The Fluorine iOS app gives you full access to your workspace from your phone — tasks, projects, messages, and notifications all sync in real time with desktop. Whether you’re on site with a client, between meetings, or away from your desk, work keeps moving without losing context.

Download and install

1

Download from the App Store

Search for Fluorine in the App Store, or scan the QR code under Settings → Mobile App in the desktop app. Tap Get to install.
2

Open the app and tap Sign In. Enter your email and password. If your workspace uses SSO, tap Continue with SSO and enter your company domain.
3

Select your workspace

If you belong to more than one workspace, choose one on first launch. Switch workspaces later from the profile menu in the bottom nav bar.
4

Allow notifications

Tap Allow when prompted. This is how Fluorine alerts you to task assignments, due dates, mentions, and direct messages when the app is in the background. If you skip this, enable notifications later in iOS Settings → Notifications → Fluorine.

What’s on mobile

Tasks and projects

Create, edit, and complete tasks. Update status, change assignees, adjust due dates, and add comments from your phone.

Team messaging

Read and send messages in project channels and direct messages. Mention teammates and attach files from your camera roll or Files app.

Push notifications

Instant alerts for task assignments, due date reminders, mentions, and direct messages. Tap any notification to go straight to the relevant task or message.

File attachments

Attach photos, documents, and files to tasks and messages. Files sync immediately and appear on desktop for your teammates.

AI features

Voice to task, smart summaries, semantic search, and the daily intelligence digest — all available on mobile. Voice to task is especially well-suited for mobile use.

Time tracking

Time tracking runs on mobile just like desktop. Active work sessions sync to your workspace automatically.

Cross-platform sync

Changes on mobile appear on desktop instantly — and vice versa. No manual sync needed.
  • A task you complete on your phone is complete on your teammate’s desktop immediately
  • Messages sent on desktop appear on mobile without refreshing
  • Files attached on mobile are available on desktop as soon as the upload finishes
  • Notification badges clear across all devices when you read a message on any platform
Real-time sync requires an active internet connection. If you lose connectivity, Fluorine queues changes locally and syncs automatically when you reconnect.

Push notification settings

1

Open notification settings

Tap the profile icon in the bottom nav bar, then tap Notification Settings.
2

Choose notification types

Toggle on or off:
  • Task assigned to me — when someone assigns you a task
  • Task due soon — reminders when a task you own is due within 24 hours
  • Mentions@mentions in task comments and channels
  • Direct messages — all DMs
  • Task comments — activity on tasks you’re following or assigned to
  • Workflow triggers — notifications from automated workflows
3

Set quiet hours

Tap Do Not Disturb and set start and end times. Fluorine holds notifications during these hours and delivers them as a bundled summary when quiet hours end.
Set quiet hours to match your non-working hours — especially important if you work across time zones. No late-night pings, nothing missed.
4

Adjust badge count

Under App Badge, choose whether the badge counts all unread notifications or only direct mentions. In a high-volume workspace, mentions-only reduces friction significantly.

Voice to task on mobile

Faster than typing. Use it any time you think of something that needs capturing but can’t stop to type it out.
1

Open voice input

Tap + New Task in any project or task list, then tap the microphone icon in the task creation screen.
2

Speak your task

Describe it naturally: “Ask Jamie to finalize the contract by next Monday, high priority.” Fluorine extracts the name, assignee, due date, and priority from your speech.
3

Review and save

Fluorine shows you the parsed fields before saving. Edit anything that was mis-transcribed, then tap Create Task.
Speak clearly and include key details — assignee, deadline, priority. You can always edit after creation. The goal is to capture it fast, not perfectly.

Tips for field work and travel

When a commitment comes up during a site visit, client meeting, or commute — use voice to task to capture it in under 10 seconds. Don’t rely on remembering to log it later.
The AI digest shows overdue tasks, high-priority items due today, and team blockers. Review it on your phone before a client call so you’re never caught off guard.
On site? Attach photos straight from your camera to a task or message. Tap the attachment icon and choose Take Photo or Photo Library.
Pull up recent conversations fast: “What did we discuss about the venue last week?” No scrolling through old threads while you’re on the move.
Poor connectivity? Fluorine keeps working offline for reading tasks and drafting comments. Changes sync automatically when you reconnect. Avoid creating tasks with file attachments offline — attachments need an active connection to upload.

Troubleshooting

Check iOS Settings → Notifications → Fluorine first. Then verify notification types are toggled on in your Fluorine notification settings. If both are correct and notifications still aren’t arriving, sign out and back in to refresh your device’s notification token.
Check your internet connection on both devices. If both are connected and sync still seems stalled, force-close and reopen the Fluorine app to trigger a manual sync. If it persists, contact support.
Large workspaces can take longer to load on first open. Make sure you’re on the latest version of the app — updates regularly include performance improvements. Reducing the number of pinned projects in your mobile home view also helps load time.
