Time tracking in Fluorine is built into the same place you do your work. Start and stop timers on tasks and Fluorine rolls hours up into per-project, per-member, and per-client summaries automatically. No timesheets at the end of the week — the data is always current because it’s captured as work happens.

Plan availability

Start and stop timers on any task. See total time logged per task.

Tracking time on a task

1

Open the task

Click any task name to open its detail panel.
2

Start the timer

Click Start timer in the task header. A persistent indicator appears in the bottom toolbar so you always know when time is running — no matter where you are in the app.
3

Stop the timer

Click Stop when you’re done. The session is logged immediately with a timestamp and duration.
4

Log time manually

Forgot to start the timer? Click + Log time on any task to enter hours and minutes manually. Manual entries are marked separately from tracked sessions in reports.
Only one timer runs at a time. Starting a new timer automatically stops the current one — so you never double-count hours.

Time by project

On Pro and Business plans, every project has a Time tab in the analytics panel showing:
  • Total hours logged across all tasks
  • Hours broken down by task list or sprint
  • Hours per team member
  • A daily timeline chart of hours logged
Use this during retrospectives to see where time was actually spent versus where it was planned.

Time by team member

Workspace admins on Pro and Business can see member-level time summaries under Reports → Team time:
  • Total hours in any date range
  • Hours per project
  • Billable versus non-billable breakdown
  • Average hours per task
Team members can always see their own time logs. Only admins can see cross-member reports.

Billable hours and client tracking

Bill clients for time without a separate tool.
1

Create a client

Go to Settings → Clients and add a client name. Associate one or more projects with each client.
2

Mark time as billable

When logging time on a task inside a client project, toggle Billable on the time entry. Billable hours are tracked separately from internal time.
3

Review billable hours

Open Reports → Billing to see total billable hours per client for any date range. Export and share directly with clients or import into your invoicing tool.
Billable hours tracking and billing reports are available on Pro and Business plans only.

Exportable reports

Export any time report as CSV or PDF for billing, payroll, or external project tracking.

Blocker resolution time

Track how long it takes to resolve blocked tasks once they’re unblocked. Improve how your team responds to dependencies.

No timesheets

Because time is logged in real time on tasks, the data is always accurate. Managers see current project status without chasing weekly updates. Team members spend time working instead of reconstructing what they did from memory.
