Your conversations and your work live in the same place in Fluorine. Reference tasks directly in messages, share files in context, and let the AI Copilot watch your channels and pull out action items automatically — no copy-pasting decisions into a task manager at the end of every meeting.Documentation Index

Sending messages
Messages are organized into channels inside your team spaces. Every member with access to a space can read and send messages in its channels.Write your message
Click the message input and type. Markdown works — bold, italic,
code, bullet lists.Linking messages to tasks
Keep context in both places — the conversation and the task.- Reference a task: Type
#followed by the task name to create an inline link. Click it to open the task without leaving the channel. - Create a task from a message: Hover over any message and click Create task. The message becomes the task description and a link back to the conversation is saved automatically.
- See linked messages from a task: Open any task and scroll to Linked messages to see every message that references it.
File sharing
Share files directly in any message or channel.- Attach a file: Click the paperclip icon or drag and drop into the channel
- Preview inline: Images and PDFs preview directly in the thread — no download needed
- Search files: All shared files are indexed and searchable in plain language — try “the brand guidelines PDF from last month”
File storage counts toward your plan limit. Check Settings → Storage to see current usage.
Real-time updates
Everything in Fluorine updates in real time. No refresh needed.Instant delivery
Messages appear across all open clients within milliseconds.
Task change notifications
When a linked task is updated — state change, reassignment, new comment — a notification appears in the channel thread.
@mention alerts
Mentioning a teammate sends an in-app notification and an email digest if they’re offline.
Notification preferences
Each teammate controls their own settings per channel — all messages, mentions only, or muted.
How the AI Copilot monitors conversations
The AI Copilot runs in the background across all your channels and does three things automatically:- Task creation: Detects commitments, requests, and action items in messages — then creates a task, assigns it to the right person, and sets a due date
- Smart summaries: After busy threads or meetings, surfaces a concise summary with key decisions and next steps
- Semantic search: Search across all messages, tasks, and files in plain language — no exact keywords needed

Channel tips
Organize by topic, not by person
Organize by topic, not by person
Name channels around projects or workstreams —
#brand-refresh, #q3-launch, #engineering — not around individuals. Keeps everything searchable and visible to the whole team.Pin important messages
Pin important messages
Hover over a message and click Pin to keep it at the top of the channel. Good for briefs, kickoff notes, and decisions that everyone needs to find quickly.
Archive instead of delete
Archive instead of delete
When a project wraps up, archive its channel rather than deleting it. Archived channels stay searchable but disappear from the sidebar.
Move cross-channel work into tasks
Move cross-channel work into tasks
If a conversation spans multiple channels or pulls in several people, turn it into a task. Tasks are the permanent record — messages are the real-time discussion layer.
