# Set Up Fluorine in Minutes

> Get your team up and running on Fluorine in under ten minutes.

Fluorine is built to get out of your way. Sign up, invite your team, create a project, and the AI starts working the moment your first conversation happens.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Start your free trial">
    Go to [fluorine.app](https://www.fluorine.app) and click **Try now**. Enter your email and create a password. No credit card required — your 14-day free trial starts immediately.

    <Tip>
      Use your work email. It makes it easier for teammates to find and join your workspace automatically.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Download Fluorine">
    Download the app for your platform — desktop apps for macOS and Linux, mobile app for iOS.

    Visit the [download page](/download) for links and system requirements.

    <Note>
      Fluorine syncs in real time across all your devices. Sign in on as many platforms as you need simultaneously.
    </Note>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in">
    Open Fluorine and sign in with the email and password you just created. First-time users will be prompted to complete their profile before continuing.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your workspace">
    Fluorine will prompt you to create or join a workspace. Your workspace holds everything — projects, messages, tasks, and your team.

    Name it something your team will recognize immediately, like your studio or company name. **Orbit Studio** or **Tangent Agency** — not "My Workspace."

    <Tip>
      If a teammate already set up a workspace, ask them for an invite link instead of creating a second one. Everyone should be in the same workspace.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Invite your team">
    Go to **Settings → Members** and invite teammates by email. They'll get a link to join instantly.

    Roles you can assign:

    * **Admin** — full access to settings, billing, and member management
    * **Member** — access to all projects and tasks
    * **Guest** — limited to specific projects only, useful for contractors or clients

    <Info>
      Guests don't count toward your seat limit but can only see projects you explicitly add them to.
    </Info>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Create your first project">
    Click **New project** in the left sidebar. Name it, add a description, set a due date if needed.

    Do these three things right away:

    * **Add your team members** so they can see and be assigned tasks
    * **Pick a default view** — list for task-heavy work, board for design sprints and kanban workflows
    * **Create your first task** to see priorities, assignments, and due dates in action

    <Tip>
      For client work, use a naming pattern like **\[Client] — \[Deliverable]** (for example, **Meridian — Brand Refresh**) so projects are easy to find at a glance.
    </Tip>
  </Step>

  <Step title="Let the AI do the work">
    Open **Messages** inside your project and start talking — share an update, discuss a decision, flag a blocker. Fluorine's AI reads the conversation and automatically creates tasks, assigns them to the right people, and tracks progress.

    Prefer talking over typing? Hit the microphone icon and use **voice to task** — speak naturally and Fluorine turns it into a structured task instantly.

    <Note>
      The AI gets sharper over time. Give it a few conversations and it'll start anticipating your team's workflow.
    </Note>
  </Step>
</Steps>
